EMBRACE | Lavinia Hale
Lavinia Hale is a landscape painter based in Greencastle, Indiana. Raised in a creative family and having lived on both U.S. coasts, she developed an early appreciation for beauty in nature and everyday life. After earning a BA in Visual Arts from Brigham Young University, she and her husband Jacob settled in Indiana, where they’ve raised eight children and grown deep roots in their community.
Guided by her motto, “Embrace the Process,” Lavinia paints primarily en plein air, seeking to capture the fleeting light, subtle color shifts, and emotional resonance of the landscape. Influenced by Russian Impressionism and American Tonalism, her work balances realism and abstraction, boldness and nuance. Through each painting, she invites viewers to slow down and connect with the wonder of the natural world.

TRANSFORMATION | Sam Sartorious
Sam Sartorius is a multidisciplinary artist whose work reflects a lifelong journey through fine art, dance, textile design, and decorative arts. These influences are evident in her paintings through dynamic movement, refined color palettes, technical precision, and intentional patterns.
She began her career in textile design at 19 with Ginnie Johansen Designs, which led to over a decade of international work. Later, she earned a BFA in Painting from Indiana University–Purdue University, graduating as a Chancellor’s Scholar. Her practice has been shaped by residencies and fellowships across the U.S. and Europe, including an influential eight-month residency at the Egon Schiele Art Centrum in the Czech Republic.
Now based in rural Texas, her abstract nature paintings are deeply inspired by the surrounding landscape and its shifting light and forms.

THE WONDERS | Christopher Schneberger
Christopher Schneberger (b. 1970) is a Chicago-based photographer whose work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Annenberg Space for Photography, Dorsky Projects (NYC), and Geocarto International (Hong Kong). His photographs are held in collections such as The Art Institute of Chicago and the Taubman Museum of Art. Schneberger is an Assistant Professor of Photography and Director of the Shircliff Gallery at Vincennes University. He holds a BFA from the University of Florida and an MFA from Indiana University.
Wonders is a photographic series inspired by childhood explorations and Rebecca Solnit’s reflections on getting lost. Through staged, semi-narrative scenes of young women journeying in natural landscapes, the series explores themes of adventure, uncertainty, and self-reliance. Created during a time of personal questioning, the work embraces the act of losing one’s way as a vital step toward finding new paths. Wonders celebrates the transformative power of wandering—both in the world and within oneself.

HAVANA: Casas y Corazones
HAVANA: Casas y Corazones brings together the vibrant visions of three contemporary Cuban artists—Lidia Aguilera, Raul Lopez Aguilar, and Viviana Mendez—in a compelling dialogue that explores the intimate relationship between home and heart within the rich cultural tapestry of Havana. Through a diverse range of media and styles, each artist interprets the theme of casas (houses) and corazones (hearts) as a metaphor for identity, memory, and community.
Lidia Aguilera’s evocative works invite viewers into the private sanctuaries of Cuban life, revealing layers of history and personal narrative embedded within architectural forms. Raul Lopez Aguilar’s dynamic compositions capture the pulsating energy of Havana’s urban landscape, weaving together the emotional rhythms of the city with its physical spaces. Meanwhile, Viviana Mendez explores themes of belonging and resilience, illuminating the profound emotional connections that shape both individual and collective experiences.
Together, these artists construct a multifaceted portrait of Havana—one that transcends geographical boundaries to touch on universal notions of home, love, and cultural continuity. HAVANA: Casas y Corazones is a celebration of the enduring spirit of a city and its people, seen through the eyes of those who call it home.
